ACCESS – Please advise when confirming your order
On confirmation of order and within 10 working days of your delivery, it is your responsibility to highlight suitability of access for our vehicles; i.e. gates, lane widths, bends, turning circles, firm ground for access to marquees in fields, on-street parking, etc. Please bear in mind that we use long wheelbase Luton style box vans (up to 2.6 metres wide/3.5 metres high/6.1 metres long) and occasionally 7.5 tonne and 18 tonne lorries. We require access to be beside the drop off point (i.e. catering tent, kitchen, function room etc).
DELIVERIES & COLLECTIONS
Your delivery is deemed to be successful once your order has arrived at the delivery address. If there is no one available to sign for the delivery, our full terms and conditions still apply. Hired items will be your responsibility from the time of delivery up to the point of collection. Any loss or damage to the items is your responsibility as per our terms and conditions. Plato will not accept liability.
A maximum of 30 minutes is allowed from arrival in the vicinity of the site for the loading and unloading of the equipment. Should the vehicle driver be delayed in gaining access to the site or on site any longer than this period, whether the reason for the delay is within the control of the Hirer or not, then extra charges will be incurred at the rate of £50 per 15 minute period for each employee delayed.
Deliveries and Collections are quoted for door to door service by a single driver. Hirers should ensure that they or their representatives are at the delivery address to receive/return the goods. Wasted journeys will be charged for. Please ensure that you have sufficient manual assistance on hand to help with the moving/siting and removal of equipment especially at difficult locations, e.g. Marquees, office premises, large halls. Where delivery entails our staff moving goods to specific areas and/or having to reassemble equipment after use and extra time is involved, additional charges will be made.
Deliveries are from hard standing adjacent to main door, ground level entrance, unless pre-arranged. An additional charge will be imposed in respect of waiting time should the driver be unduly delayed or detained white attempting to effect a delivery or collection.
ADEQUATE FLOOR PROTECTION
Please ensure you have adequate covering to protect your flooring/carpets/grass/patio areas as Plato will not accept claims that can be made for damage caused to unprotected flooring/carpets/grass/patio areas. Before the day of delivery and on collection it is your responsibility to provide and have installed floor protection/trackway/temporary roadway to avoid any damage.
Due to the health and safety of our staff, our delivery team is forbidden to remove any safety clothing including their footwear indoors.
Items delivered indoors are carried out at the property owners own risk. Once you or a person on your behalf has accepted delivery we shall, in NO event, be held responsible for any damage to your property.
PARKING
It is your responsibility to ensure that suitable parking arrangements are made for both delivery and collection and that these arrangements are consistent with parking restrictions. Any parking fines or other parking costs incurred due to inadequate provisions made by yourselves will be re-charged.
LINEN
Open flame candles and dripping wax can pose a significant risk to table linen. Therefore it is highly recommended that you use either enclosed cylinders or larger enough candle plates/mirrors to avoid any wax or burns on the cloths. Where linen is returned badly mildewed, stained or damaged in any way (candle wax, ink, burns etc), we shall have the right to charge you the replacement cost and to invoice you for this.
AFTER THE EVENT AND BEFORE PLATO COLLECTION
All plates, glasses, cutlery, linen & furniture must be repacked correctly and placed back in a ground floor central/accessible location by yourselves. Preferably in the location where delivery took place. All linen must be dry, shaken and folded and put back into the bags provided. All electrical and gas equipment must be disconnected and placed with all other items. If Plato staff have to clear down and repack a handling charge of £200 plus vat will be payable. Floor protection needs to remain in place upto collection.

Our standard rate covers a hire period of 3 days only. Additional days will be charged out at our extra day rate. Long term hire by quotation.

The hired equipment is solely intended for use and storage indoors unless specifically designed and manufactured for use outdoors. If the equipment is used or stored outdoors the hirer is fully responsible for damage caused by the weather or any other associated hazard.
Appropriate instruction on the safe use and operation of the equipment will be provided by Plato Catering Hire

Whilst Plato Catering Hire Limited will make every endeavour to supply equipment as described in on the website, all items are offered subject to availability. Circumstances may lead to alternative products being supplied, but they will conform to the same standards.
If equipment cannot be supplied on the agreed date because of circumstances beyond its reasonable control, Plato Catering Hire shall return all monies paid and not be liable to pay further compensation to the Hirer.
